Connect accounts

Connecting an account lets Olyvr collect a snapshot of your mail and files into the workspace, where you can search and cite them like any other document. Access is read-only: Olyvr never sends, edits or deletes anything in your accounts.

Account What Olyvr collects Access requested
Google Gmail messages (sender, recipients, date, subject, body). Google Drive: Docs and Slides as text, Sheets as CSV, and uploaded PDF, Office and text files. Read-only Gmail and Drive
Microsoft Outlook mail. OneDrive files in supported formats, from the whole drive or one folder. Read-only mail and files
GitHub Issues and pull requests (title, state, author, date, description) from up to 50 repositories. Your profile and email

Mail attachments and comments are not collected yet. GitHub repository files are not collected.

  1. In Workspace, choose to add an account and pick the provider.

  2. Your browser opens the provider’s sign-in page. Sign in and approve access.

  3. Back in Olyvr, the account appears and a source is created for it. Choose what to collect, for example mail, files, or how many days back, then refresh.

You can connect several accounts from the same provider.

For GitHub, or when browser sign-in is not possible, paste a personal access token instead. Olyvr checks the token belongs to a real account before saving it.

Each refresh collects a bounded snapshot: 200 items by default, up to 2,000. You can limit it to recent items (for example the last 30 days) and pause, resume or stop a refresh in progress.

Items deleted in your account are not removed from the workspace automatically. Run a full refresh to replace the snapshot.

  • Sign out deletes the stored sign-in from your machine. Collected documents stay in the workspace.
  • Remove signs out and also removes that account’s sources and documents.

Signing out does not revoke Olyvr’s access on the provider’s side. To revoke it fully, remove Olyvr from your Google, Microsoft or GitHub account’s connected-apps settings.

Browser sign-in needs an OAuth client for each provider. Release builds can include clients for Google and Microsoft. If yours doesn’t, the app says “Configure the account provider before signing in”. You can add your own client in the account settings by pasting the client ID and secret, or the client JSON downloaded from Google Cloud or Azure. The redirect URI to register is http://127.0.0.1:<port>/api/<provider>/callback, where the port is between 9420 and 9429.

Slack, Jira, Teams and calendar connections are not available yet.
