Install
Get the installer for your system from the download page. Everything Olyvr needs is bundled: you do not need Python, Node.js or any other runtime.
Requires macOS 15 or later. Apple Silicon and Intel Macs use different downloads; pick the one that matches your Mac.
-
Open the downloaded
.dmgand drag Olyvr Workspace into Applications. -
The current build is not notarized by Apple, so double-clicking it the first time shows a warning. Instead, open Applications, right-click (or Control-click) Olyvr Workspace, choose Open, then confirm Open.
If macOS still refuses, open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, and click Open Anyway next to the Olyvr message.
-
Olyvr opens to a new chat. Continue with the quickstart.
On macOS, Olyvr can list your running apps and check whether it has the Accessibility permission, without changing anything. Window control, which will need that permission, is still in development. You can grant it in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Accessibility.
Requires 64-bit Windows.
-
Run the downloaded
.exe. It installs for your user account only, so it does not need administrator rights. You can choose the install folder. -
The installer is not yet code signed, so Microsoft Defender SmartScreen may show Windows protected your PC. Click More info, then Run anyway.
-
Open Olyvr Workspace from the Start menu and continue with the quickstart.
Requires 64-bit (x86_64) Linux with a reasonably recent glibc.
-
Make the AppImage executable:
Terminal window chmod +x Olyvr-Workspace-*.AppImage -
Run it:
Terminal window ./Olyvr-Workspace-*.AppImageIf it fails to start with a FUSE error, install your distribution’s
libfuse2package. -
Continue with the quickstart.
