Approvals
Approvals decide when Olyvr stops and asks you before the agent runs a plugin tool. Choose a mode from the selector under the composer.
| Mode | Read-only tools | Tools that change data | Tools that send or publish | Unknown tools |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ask for approval (default) | Run | Ask | Ask | Ask |
| Approve for me | Run | Run | Ask | Ask |
| Full access | Run | Run | Run | Run |
Olyvr doesn’t trust a server’s own claim that a tool is read-only. Plugin tools count as unknown unless their effect has been set explicitly, so in practice they ask in both of the first two modes.
What an approval covers
Section titled “What an approval covers”When the agent wants to run a tool, Olyvr shows the tool and its exact arguments. Press ⌘/Ctrl + Enter to approve or Esc to decline.
An approval:
- applies to one call, with exactly the arguments you saw, in that run only
- can be used once
- expires after 10 minutes
If you decline or it expires, the action does not run and the agent is told so.
What approvals don’t cover
Section titled “What approvals don’t cover”Built-in actions such as searching and reading your workspace, recalling chats, and creating or editing drafts never need approval. Their results stay inside Olyvr, and every draft and edit is itself a proposal you review before anything is exported.
