Introduction

Olyvr Workspace is a desktop assistant for office work. You give it your documents, and it searches them, answers questions with citations, and drafts documents that you review and export.

It runs on your computer. Your documents, chats and search index stay in a folder on your machine, and you choose which AI model it talks to.

Olyvr is one app with three parts that run together on your machine:

  • The window you work in: chat, workspace, document panel and settings.
  • A local engine that imports and indexes your files, runs the agent, and produces exports. It only accepts connections from the Olyvr window that started it.
  • An optional subscription proxy that turns a ChatGPT or Claude subscription into a model endpoint on your machine, so you don’t need a separate API key.

When you ask a question, the agent searches your workspace, reads the most relevant documents, and answers with citations. It can only cite documents it actually read in that conversation. When you ask for a document, it creates a draft in the side panel as a list of proposed changes for you to accept or reject.

  • Import files and folders, or connect Google, Microsoft and GitHub accounts
  • Ask questions and get answers with checked citations
  • Draft and review Word documents, then export clean or with tracked changes
  • Generate spreadsheets, decks, emails and text files as reviewable drafts
  • Organize work into chats and projects
  • Keep profile notes and preferences that shape every answer
  • Add skills and MCP plugins
