ChatGPT or Claude subscription
If you already pay for ChatGPT or Claude, Olyvr can use that subscription directly. You don’t need a separate API key.
How it works
Section titled “How it works”Olyvr bundles a small local proxy (CLIProxyAPI, MIT licensed). After you sign in, the proxy runs on your machine and offers your subscription as an OpenAI-compatible endpoint, by default at http://127.0.0.1:8317/v1. Olyvr connects to it like any other endpoint.
Your sign-in tokens are stored in Olyvr’s data folder, and requests go from your machine straight to OpenAI or Anthropic.
Section titled “Sign in”-
Open Settings → Model access and find Subscriptions.
-
Choose ChatGPT or Claude:
- ChatGPT: Olyvr shows a sign-in link and a one-time code. Open the link, sign in to your OpenAI account, and enter the code.
- Claude: a claude.ai sign-in page opens in your browser. Sign in and approve access.
-
Once sign-in completes, the account appears in the list and the proxy starts. Sign-in times out after 15 minutes; start again if that happens.
-
Open a chat and pick a model from the composer’s model picker.
You can sign in to more than one account. The proxy spreads requests across them.
Manage accounts
Section titled “Manage accounts”- Start the local proxy: if the proxy is not running, for example after a restart, use Start the local proxy in the Subscriptions box.
- ChatGPT usage: the Subscriptions box shows your remaining ChatGPT quota when the provider reports it.
- Sign out: remove an account from the list to delete its stored sign-in.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”| Message | What to do |
|---|---|
| “no ChatGPT or Claude account is signed in” | The proxy is running but has no account. Sign in again. |
| “no cli-proxy-api binary…” | The bundled proxy is missing. Reinstall Olyvr. |
| Port already in use | The proxy picks the first free port from 8317 upward when it is first set up. If something else took the port later, quit that program or sign in again. |
Your use of a subscription through Olyvr is still subject to your provider’s terms.
