FAQ

There is no Olyvr subscription. You pay only for the model you use: your existing ChatGPT or Claude plan, an API provider, or nothing for a local model.

Only for the agent and for generated memory and tasks. Importing, searching, browsing and exporting documents work without any model.

Your workspace stays on your machine. Text is sent to the model provider you choose when you use the agent, and to account providers when you refresh their data. Data and privacy lists exactly what goes where. There is no telemetry.

Can it send emails or act in other apps for me?

Section titled “Can it send emails or act in other apps for me?”

No. Olyvr drafts emails for you to copy and send yourself, and it doesn’t control other apps. Plugins can add tools that take actions, and those ask for your approval by default.

PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Markdown, CSV, HTML, JSON, YAML, XML and plain text, plus email (.eml) and calendar (.ics) files. Scanned PDFs need OCR first. See Import files.

Olyvr works on its own copies. Drafts and edits are proposals you review in the app, then export as a new file, clean or with tracked changes.

Olyvr only accepts citations to documents the agent actually opened in that conversation, from sources that are enabled. It can still misread a document, so open the citation to check important facts.

macOS 15 or later (Apple Silicon; Intel builds are planned), 64-bit Windows, and 64-bit Linux. Window control and app inventory are macOS-only.

Early builds aren’t code signed or notarized yet. Install explains how to open it and verify the download.

Quit Olyvr and copy the data folder. On another machine, put it in the same place before first launch.
