Chat, citations and projects

When you send a message, the agent:

  1. Gathers context: a first set of likely documents, your recent messages in the chat, your memory notes and preferences, any matching skills, and project notes.
  2. Searches and reads more documents as needed, showing each step as it goes.
  3. Answers, or creates a draft in the document panel.

A single answer can take up to 16 steps. If it runs out of steps, it stops and tells you; ask it to continue or narrow the question.

  • search and read your workspace
  • recall and read earlier chats
  • make a step-by-step plan for larger tasks
  • create documents, spreadsheets, decks, emails and text files as drafts
  • propose edits to an existing draft
  • use tools from connected plugins

It cannot browse the web, run code, send email or control other apps.

Answers cite their sources inline. Click a citation to open the document beside the chat.

Olyvr checks every citation before showing the answer. It can only cite documents it actually opened in that conversation, and never a document from a source you have disabled. If the model invents a citation, Olyvr sends it back to be corrected. Things you said in earlier chats are never used as document citations.

Attach files or paste images in the composer to include them in a single message without importing them into the workspace. You can attach up to 20 files per message; very long files are truncated.

  • Click Stop to cancel a run. Steps already completed stay visible.
  • You can switch to another chat while a run continues; you’re notified when it finishes.
  • If Olyvr quits during a run, that run is marked as interrupted when you reopen it. Olyvr never repeats an interrupted action automatically.

Chats are saved automatically and named from your first message. Rename, search (⌘/Ctrl + K) or delete them from the sidebar.

A project groups related chats, documents and notes.

  • Notes: up to 4,000 characters of standing context, such as goals, names or constraints, that the agent sees in every chat in the project.
  • Linked documents: pin up to 100 workspace documents to the project.
  • Recall: when the agent looks up earlier conversations, it searches the current project first.

Deleting a project keeps its chats; they just stop belonging to it.
